Irrigation Systems by Four Seasons Garden Care
Four Seasons Garden Care provides comprehensive irrigation solutions from system design to installation and maintenance.
Our systems range from simple battery-powered setups for small gardens to advanced multi-zone intelligent control systems equipped with pump and tank for larger landscapes and commercial properties.
We tailor each system to meet the unique needs of your garden, ensuring careful design focused on maximum efficiency. Our expertise lies in installing high-performance, water-efficient systems built for long-term reliability.
Quality components from brands such as Hunter, Rain Bird, Geka, Claber, and Hozelock are used to ensure durability and reliable operation. Controllers can be equipped with remote access and weather-based scheduling features for water conservation.
Garden Survey & System Design
An on-site assessment evaluates the landscape, plant types, and client requirements. The design process considers the garden’s size, shape, plant requirements, available water pressure, and usage patterns. The goal is to create a system that provides effective water coverage and operates efficiently. Each plan is customised to the specific characteristics of the site, aiming for reliability, longevity, and optimal performance.
System Installation
The company offers installation services for various types of watering systems including drip and spray irrigation.
Drip irrigation delivers water slowly and directly to the plant’s root zone, minimising water loss through evaporation or runoff and promoting efficient soil moisture absorption. It can be installed under high or low pressure, depending on site requirements.
Spray irrigation uses pop-up sprinklers and micro-sprinklers to provide even coverage across lawns and flower beds. Particular attention is given to head placement and spray patterns to prevent dry spots and ensure uniform watering.
After the installation works, the ground surface is restored neatly and turf is carefully replaced to maintain the desired landscape’s appearance.
Spring Startup
Preparing the system for the new season, which includes:
- Fill the system with water
- Check for leakages
- Check sensors
- Repairs to damage made by animals and garden users
- Check wires and solenoids to ensure proper weatherproofing
- Programming for spring operation
System Maintenance
Fortnightly or monthly visits in summer:
- Check ground moisture and plant appearance
- Adjust sprinklers, nozzles, and drippers
- Check controller operation
- Ensure operation of sensors (rain, soil moisture)
- Adjust watering programmes according to changing weather, season, and plant size
- Adjust the watering in drier or damper areas
- Repairs to damage made by animals and garden users
Winterisation
Terminating the system operations and closing it for winter, which includes:
- Suspend the watering programmes
- Shut off the water flows to the tanks
- Drain water from the system
Repairs and Adjustments
- Localise and repair leaks
- Repair broken or clogged lines, sprinklers, and valves
- Adjust the sprinkler location, range, arch, type of nozzle to correct coverage
- Install pressure reducing valves to balance water pressure
- Change drip line layout to ensure appropriate watering
- Repair damaged electric wires between controller and solenoids or decoders
- Exchange faulty decoders
- Repair broken pumps (including pump starters, floating switches, etc.)
- Reprogram the controllers, adjust the watering programmes, etc.
- Controller issues – failures, Wi-Fi connectivity, scheduling problems, etc.
- Exchange inefficient or ageing components
- Redesign the system to improve efficiency
- Correct poor initial design or installation
